Greetings Senators, apologies for delays... Work and a BtS install have delayed things a bit (Not playing BtS, but the subsequent halting of my Warlords pbem because of the BtS automatic upgrade is making things difficult.)

I bring before the Senate a plan for the next turn.

There is currently a Trade Request before the Senate. Once it has reached a majority (in favor, I hope), this CPR can be voted on..

Since there is only 1 turn's worth of authority requested, this one is fairly simple.

If the trade is approved, it would be enacted at once and the workers waiting to farm the rice will commence. Play will be halted on the next turn to determine further trade possibilities opened up by the acquired tech.

Senators, please vote yea, nay, or abstain to this proposal after the Trade Request linked above is approved.

Yea

I'm going to say this in advance of the other measure passing since we only need 1 more yea to get a majority there... (and it saves waiting another day for me to respond to this...)

I would like to point out that in my view, and in this case, it is unnecessary and undesirable to have a continued play request that covers a single turn. Certainly we should be able to get some trading done without holding the president's hand? After all, we trust him to pick our research path without *any* requirements... The constitution mentions "foreign affairs" and "treaties" and "acts of war" but surely it is not in our best interest to qualify trades as such?

(This signature is necessary because I haven't gotten the SC banner yet, or mod access to the appropriate dark and dusty places. Didn't I mention that already?)
