I can run Civ4, but VERY slowly and no crashes yet. I can only play tiny worlds. Is it possible to upgrade to improve performance and if so, what is more important a video card or a processor upgrade?

Fraxis says on the box that Civ4 is not compatible with processor upgrades, is this true? The game also says it wont run on my machine, but it does.

thanks

Captffej

Civ 3 Complete Editor

Hi,
I have Civilization III Complete for mac, and I have been looking for the game/scenario editor which is supposedly in it. Do I need to download it? I've been scouring the internet, and have been unable to find advice, so I'm coming here. How do I get and use an editor for Civilization III Complete?
Thanks.

Civ III on Intel Mac OS X?

Ok. I've had Civ 3 and a 350 Mhz iMac for years, and have enjoyed them both. But I need to replace my computer, and was going to get a new Intel iMac. Will Civ 3 (stated to be compatible with 10.0.4 - old, but still Mac OS X) run on a new Intel mac under Rosetta?

Civ 3 crashing on Mac

This may be ancient history for everyone here, but I have a MacBook with OSX (w/latest updates) and just got Civ 3 for Xmas. (I now know there is a Civ 4!) I also got the most recent patch available from the Civ 3 site (1.22?). Both before and after getting that patch, Civ 3 keeps crashing every 15 minutes or so. Can folks help me? If there is a better forum for Mac users, let me know that too. Love the game, but it's hard to get momentum going when I have to restart every few turns.
Thanks, Michael, Washington DC

Editing/Making Unit Animations

Is there a program for Macs that does this?

New to Mac

Hi,I just switched from windows to mac, and got CIV III, too. This does give you an insight into how the AI works as well as all the advantages the AI has over you in terms of starting units. Does anyone know of any that work on the Mac?

So how about the editor?

I installed the Civ editor on my Imac, but it won't run. Cracker has customized the game so that we can play virtually the same game as the PC and PTW players. This month, for example, we can play as Carthage a PTW civ! We view this as a tremendous and unexpected opportunity to join the Civ3 gaming mainstream, and hope that you agree. Please check out the game link:http://gotm.civfanatics.net/games/gotm17_carthage.shtml Cracker has done a tremendous amount of work to make it possible for us to play the GOTM. If you are interested in playing along, please make sure to send him your results (win or lose), as he will need to see a certain level of interest from the Mac players in order to continue modifying the game for our benefit each month. I wonder if this will work in OS 9, Ill have to wait till I get home to try it.Peace :p E

Mac beta 1.29_2 patch available

Not sure how many here are aware that Brad Oliver has built 1.29 and released it as a beta. A decision to port PTW would also be consistent with past business decisions regarding the Civilization series. In addition, I would expect a PTW Mac port to sell very well in spite of the MP cross-platform inability with PC users. Many Mac users I've spoken with are interested in PTW for its additional civilizations, features, and MP capabilities with their Mac-user friends. It is my hope that MacSoft Games chooses to port PTW in the near future. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Tom Herring (dojoboy) Civ3.1bigcommunity, Apolyton, and CivFanatics Center member
