A website dedicated to people who string along the "Nigerian Money" scammers and waste their time and effort. I've only read one so far, "Book Worm". By the end I was actually starting to feel bad for the scammer, almost. Man did that guy put a lot of time and energy into trying to complete his scam, only to be scammed himself. :D

In August 2007, scientists from the University of Minnesota published an astonishing finding in the Astrophysical Journal. The universe, they declared, had a hole in it -- a hole far bigger than anything scientists have ever seen or expected. This "hole" spans almost one billion light years and is six to 10 billion light years from Earth, in the Eridanus constellation [source: Daily Tech]. (For reference, one light year measures about six trillion miles.)

What makes this vast area of the universe a hole? The area shows almost no signs of cosmic matter, meaning no stars, planets, solar systems or clouds of cosmic dust. Researchers couldn't even find dark matter, which is invisible but measurable by its gravitational pull. There were also no signs of black holes that might have gobbled up the matter once present in the region.

The hole was initially detected by a NASA program studying the spread of radiation emitted from the Big Bang, which scientists believe spawned our universe. It was then further examined using information gleaned from the Very Large Array (VLA) telescope, used in the NRAO VLA Sky Survey Project to study large sections of the visible sky.

One researcher described the find as "not normal," going against computer simulations and past studies [source: Yahoo News]. Other such holes, also known as voids, have been found before, but this find is by far the largest. Other voids amount to around 1/1000th the size of this one, while scientists once observed a void as close as two million light years away -- practically down the street in cosmic terms [source: CNN.com].

Astronomer Brent Tully told the Associated Press that galactic voids in all likelihood develop because regions of space with high mass pull matter from less massive areas [source: CNN.com]. Over billions of years, a region can lose most of its mass to a massive neighbor. In the case of this giant void, further studies may reveal some matter in the region, but it would still be far less than what is found in "normal" parts of space.

The square cut stone tunnels like some tomb, some long dead corridor in the soundless heart of a pyramid. 18 of us made the descent, 18 of us made it back, through a hole in the wall of an abandoned railway tunnel. So many junctions, so many twists and turns. Without a map we'd have been lost. Water sometimes deeper than our boots, how long has it been trapped down there? Spoke to some other spelunkers who were going to La Chateau - discovered a castle carved out of rock. In La Plage before a fresco of a Japanese wave we halted. David Hawkins retold a folk ballad, spoke of murder and that elusive almost perfect crime. We invoked The Hollow Men. Ink was blood and it was Interesting Times for Generation Z. Joy, Deb and Danny spoke in terrifying sinsiter unison. Conor let loose the dogs of war, by owl light. The Fifth Dentist plied his trade. Maxime made as if to endarken Buddha. And more. All by soft whiskey light, the smell of candle wax, its hot burning drip on the hand.

Smile..., Your now searchable by photo/image tags! No longer just text. If your pic appears anywhere on the NET, including cell phones, anybody can now find it. Your boss, your Mom, your girlfriend/boyfriend (whatever your pref), etc. Now in early 2007, if someone knows your name, they can find any pics of you. The developers assure us this software does not invade your personal pics stored on your system. Rrrriiight. Where have I heard that before? Hmmmm..., AOL, Microsoft, any marketing spyware or cookie? Truthfully? I see no need for it except to take away more privacy. Privacy we thought we had thru obscurity. Worse yet, the developers brag that the software learns and becomes "smarter" (more intrusive), the more it's used. We train it by applying "tags". Another red flag word. Hey, but that's just me. You decide.

Tired of the old plain librarian search engines that focus on ease of use. Try MsDewey that gives searching more sex appeal. She also always has something to say about the topic you just looked up. She even gets impatient if you don't look up anything. Although the UI is a nightmare, its still fun to mess around with.
