While I managed to defeat the Zulus in the late middle ages, I could only get properly rolling in the industrial age. I made a two-pronged research lunge to pick up both Mining Inc and Sid's Sushi. I went for wonders instead of expanding, which didn't work out well at all. I didn't realize exactly how close everyone was. The Zulus attacked me early and kept it going for 1/2 the game or more. I got 6 Great Generals, which is kind of impressive for a short-game. This might have been a record number of generals in an Epic or Marathon game. I would have LOST this game if it wasn't for that high annoying (my opinion) option of Permanent alliances. Itskind of acheater option in my humble opinion. I was in dead last for almost all of the game and then suddenly, I'm in #1 with my partner and win the game. Lame. lol. I'd guess I wasat least15-20 techs behind, and suddenly I'm able to crush people with superior technology. "Booo!" on that option. I also got a Domination victory, in 1950. Since I'm complained a little about that 1 setting (which I worked to my heavy advantage) I'd like to see less Domination victories available in our GOTMs. Almost all winners have been via Domination. I'd like to see a cultural victory or diplomatic victory or something like that. 1 way to win and have it be in a rotating unusual way. At least for a few months. I'm also trying my political activism to get domination removed from the options to win a GOTM. I'd still rather have 2-3 GOTMs in a row with odd victory conditions. Cultural one month. Diplomatic another. That sorta thing. Just my 2 cents. I like good old-fashioned Imperialism As far as I see, the problem is that the scoring favours Domination victories.
